About the event
Tempranillo is the most widely planted variety in Spain.
Vibrant and red berry driven in youth, it also has a natural affinity with oak and ages gracefully in the right locations.
This 'arrange your own wines' tasting will take you through a range of styles from Spain and also Portugal where it goes by the names of Tinta Roriz and Aragonez.
We'll also talk about the white mutation, Tempranillo Blanco.
On booking, you will receive an automatic email with suggestions of wines to taste, choose 1 or more, it's up to you and feel free to raid your own wine rack or see what you favourite merchant has to offer too.
The wine selection is to show the versatility of Tempranillo (aka Tinta del Pais, Tinto Fino, Aragonez, Tinta Roriz) from youthful/no oak to maturing and oak aged. Suggest a couple of styles and maybe areas to compare. Add in…
