Carol Brown DipWSET

Carol Brown DipWSET  is a member of the Association of Wine Educators and the Circle of Wine Writers.

Since completing her WSET Diploma in 1996, she has been talking, teaching, tasting and writing about wine in Aberdeen and around Scotland.

Originally from the Victorian seaside resort of Southport in the North West of England, she studied Hospitality Management at colleges in Southport and Blackpool . After a spell working for Boddingtons in Manchester, she moved to Guernsey for four years. With the abundance of great restaurants on the island, she developed her love of food and wine.On moving to Aberdeen, she managed a deli and took her enjoyment of wine to a formal level by working her way through the WSET Courses.

Carol is an Approved Programme Provider and tutor for the WSET. ​A freelance writer, Carol has a regular wine feature in the Press and Journal and the Courier.

 Carol is widely travelled around the wine world having visited regions across France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland, Madeira, Chile, California, South Africa and Lebanon and does think that she probably has the best job in the world.

She was a UK finalist in the European Champagne Ambassadors Awards 2006 and is a Certified Sherry Educator, a Certified Rioja Wine Educator and Napa Valley Certified and is a wine judge for the IWSC and an industry judge for the Gin Cooperative Awards .Carol was also a finalist in the Creative Minds category at Trend's 2014 Life with Style Awards.
