Aberdeen Wine Appreciators Tasting Group

I founded the Aberdeen Wine Appreciators  (AWA) Tasting group back in 1999 and we have around 40 members. Membership spaces are currently available.

The essence of AWA is to give its members the opportunity to try wines which they would not normally try perhaps because of cost, limited availability or preconceptions! I source wines from high street, independant and specialist suppliers to ensure the diversity of the wines which we taste.

Meetings are relaxed and informal with emphasis on group chat about the wines.

 Some general points:

 Meetings begin at 7.30pm prompt

  • In fairness to other members the full 6-month subscription should be paid (£17.00 per meeting so £102.00). Whilst refunds for missed meetings can not be given, if you can not make a meeting, please feel free to send someone along in your place.
  • By having a 6 month subscription it allows more flexibility with the wines, less expensive evenings subsidising more costly wines. This also keeps admin costs to a minimum.
  • New members are welcome to join, spaces permitting at anytime during the block on payment of joining fee (£10.00) and number of sessions left in block (£17.00 per session).
  • Members may bring a guest if there are spaces available. Please just give me a quick call first – I’d hate to run low on wine! Guest fee is from £20.00 although that does depend on the wines on show.
  • The joining fee (£10.00) is a ‘life membership’. Should you wish to take a break from the club, please let me know so the place can be offered to someone else. You may rejoin anytime, spaces permitting.
